Mi casa in Puerto Vallarta

Home sweet home for the next 3 months

By In Mexico

The place I’m staying at in Puerto Vallarta is in a really great location. It’s in the area known as Zona Romantica (Romantic Zone). It’s also known as Viejo Vallarta (Old Vallarta) or Old Town. The cobblestone streets and all of the restaurants and colorful store fronts make the area quite charming. Even though Zona Romantica is a big tourist area, I feel like I’m more immersed in the Mexican culture.

I absolutely love how everything is close by. The closest restaurant is just next door so if I’m feeling lazy and in need of sustenance, I just need to walk out my front door and walk a few steps. All of the essentials are in walking distance. The place I drop my laundry off is 2 blocks away. Mail Box Etc (where I drop off my postcards to my niece) is 4 blocks away. Oxxo, a 24-hour convenience store equivalent to US’s 7-Eleven is only 1 block away. The closest hospital is only 2 blocks away. Hopefully, I will never need it but it is comforting knowing it’s so close. I’m also only 3 blocks away from Playa de Los Muertos aka Los Muertos Beach.

Let’s take a tour

I’m subletting the apartment of one of my clients. It’s a one bedroom apartment with 2 full bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. The place is actually a lot more spacious than I had imagined it was going to be so I’m quite pleased. It came fully furnished and decorated so I didn’t have to worry about any of those details. The only downside is that the only natural light that comes into the apartment is from the patio that’s attached to the bedroom. When I’m working at home, I work in the bedroom because I prefer the natural light.

Welcome to my humble abode.
